2. Movies Under the Stars

Summer weather provides the best time to catch a flick outdoors-style. The Blue Starlight Mini Urban Drive-In is a blast from the past with its vintage speakers and cult classics. And the best part? It’s right down the street, in the heart of the city! Dinner and a movie, anyone?

3. Visit the Zoo

Kids and adults of all ages are sure to enjoy themselves at the Austin Zoo. The Austin Zoo and Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit rescue zoo, and their mission is to assist animals in need through rescue, rehabilitation, and education.

4. Cruise Lady Bird Lake

Capital Cruises of Austin dubs themselves “The Ultimate Austin Experience,” as the largest all-electric boat fleet on the Highland Lakes. Take an evening dinner cruise, see the bats of the Congress Avenue Bridge, or consider renting a boat for your private event this summer. They’re located at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on the shores of Lady Bird Lake.

5. Sightsee From a Segway

Looking for a new way to explore Austin’s most popular spots? SegCity Segway Tours offer various tours through the city, covering such sights as the capitol, Butler Park, and Lady Bird Lake. Tours range from 1 ½ to 3 hours and riders must be at least 14 years of age.
